Ductile Iron Manhole Covers
Round and square ductile iron manhole covers for municipal drainage, roads, industrial sites and construction projects. Anti-settlement type is available for carriageway installations. Sizes follow the cover × frame convention — for example, 700×800 is a 700 mm cover in an 800 mm frame.
Load classes B125 / C250 / D400 / E600 are load-class designations: the number is the class test load in kilonewtons (for example D400 = 400 kN test load). It is not a maximum vehicle weight — choose the class by where the product will be installed, and ask us if unsure.

Material & Structure
What the Cover Is Made Of
Each set consists of a cover and a matching frame, cast in ductile iron (spheroidal graphite cast iron). The spherical graphite structure gives the casting higher strength and impact resistance than ordinary grey iron, which is why ductile iron is the standard material for carriageway covers.
The cover face carries a raised anti-slip pattern. On the anti-settlement type, the frame is designed to sit on the surrounding road structure so the load is spread beyond the chamber wall, reducing the risk of the frame sinking over time.

How the Goods Are Packed
Covers and gratings are stacked and strapped on pallets at our Dongguan yard, as shown in the photos on this page, ready for forklift handling and loading. The final packing arrangement and transport plan are confirmed with you per order, as part of the quotation.

Ductile Iron Manhole Cover — FAQ
How do I read the size “700×800”?
It is cover × frame: the cover is 700 mm and the outer frame is 800 mm. The first number is close to the clear opening of the chamber, so measure your opening and match the first number.
Which load class should I choose?
As a general guide: B125 for footways and pedestrian areas, C250 for kerbside channels and light traffic, D400 for carriageways and main roads, E600 for heavy-duty areas such as docks and industrial yards. Tell us where the cover will be installed and we will confirm the suitable class with you.
What is the anti-settlement type?
A cover design where the frame and cover spread load onto the surrounding road structure, reducing the risk of the frame sinking below the road surface over time. It is available within our ductile iron cover range — ask for it when you send your size.
What should I include in my inquiry?
